Responsible Employee
A Responsible Employee includes any employee who:
- has the authority to institute corrective measures;
- is an employee who has responsibility for administrative leadership, teaching, or advising; or
- is not a confidential employee.
Responsible Employees include:
- the Title IX Coordinator and any Title IX Deputies;
- all administrators and supervisors within all divisions of the President's Cabinet;
- all non-confidential employees;
- all faculty;
- institution law enforcement;
- residential directors, resident advisors, and desk assistants in Residence Life;
- student workers in the Eagle Achievement Center; and
- all other non-confidential first responders.
Responsible employees will safeguard an individual's privacy, but are required to report information regarding Sexual Misconduct with the Title IX Coordinator or a Title IX Deputy Coordinator in recognition of the understanding that centralized reporting is an important tool to address, eliminate, and prevent Sexual Misconduct.
Similarly, all students and employees not designated as Responsible Employees, while not required, are strongly encouraged to report any information to the Title IX Coordinator or a Title IX Deputy Coordinator. Confidential Resources will not share information about an individual (including whether that individual has received services) without the individual's express written permission unless there is a continuing threat of serious violence to the patient/client or to others or there is a legal obligation to reveal such information.
