Media Alert: Coppin State University to Host Inaugural Gala May 5, 2023
BALTIMORE – Coppin State University will host its inaugural gala on Friday, May 5, 2023. The new signature event is a celebration of Coppin students, as well the faculty, staff, and corporate, community, and other partners who contribute to their holistic development and success.
The gala’s theme, Illuminating Impact, speaks to Coppin State's status as a leader in urban higher education and the meaningful contributions its students, alumni, and friends have made to the enduring legacy of Coppin, and their communities.
During the gala, honorees will be recognized for their contributions to Eagle Nation:
• Eagle of the Year Award | Dr. Karen S. Bethea (‘81), and Pastor Linwood E. Bethea (’80)
• Blue and Gold Impact Award | Schwab Advisor Services, and the Charles Schwab Foundation
• Eagle Legacy Award | Florine “Peaches” Camphor (‘58)
The evening will be emceed by award-winning journalist Adrianna Hopkins and will feature entertainment from DJ Quicksilva, saxophonist Brach Cobb, DJ Ryan Kersey, and violinist Marvill Martin.
