Coppin State University Announces Inaugural Gala
BALTIMORE – Coppin State University, today, announced the inaugural Coppin State University Gala to be held, May 5, 2023, at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel. The gala is a new, signature event to raise funding to support the holistic development, and success of Coppin students, while also celebrating their accomplishments, and highlighting the impact of the institution as an innovative leader in urban higher education.
The Coppin State University Gala will bring together members of the university community, local and national partners, alumni, and friends of the institution who believe in providing transformative learning opportunities, fostering economic growth, and spurring innovation and development in Baltimore, and beyond. The gala’s theme, Illuminating Impact, speaks to Coppin’s status as a leader in urban higher education and the meaningful contributions its students, alumni, and friends have made to the enduring legacy of Coppin, as well as their communities.
“At Coppin State University, we do not just live in the city, the city lives in us. Coppin Eagles are the promise of a stronger tomorrow. Here, we are driven to unite, create, reimagine and inspire. Each member of Eagle Nation, no matter how they come to know Coppin, has a responsibility to help prepare our scholars for the world they will lead. We accomplish this, together, through mentorship, financial support, and challenging students in ways that fosters their intellectual strength and individual growth,” said President Anthony L. Jenkins. “This gala is an opportunity to go all in on our commitment, and invest in our students, so they can take flight and soar, here and beyond.”
The evening will include dinner, networking, music, and dancing. Contributions to this event will directly support Coppin State University’s efforts to nurture potential and transform lives through education.
