College of Business Hosts Economic Inclusion Conference
The virtual 2021 Economic Inclusion Conference @ Coppin (EICAC) is scheduled for 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on both April 15 and 16. Keynote addresses will be delivered by Charles Ross, Interim President and CEO of the International Business Innovation Association (InBIA) and Lee Wellington, Founding Executive Director of the Urban Manufacturing Alliance (UMA). Both mornings will be a fast-paced learning experience with interviews, concurrent sessions, and paneled discussions, attracting participation from public and private stakeholders, as well as academic and community partners.
The theme of the 2021 EICAC,The New Academic Innovation Hub: Entrepreneurial Practices for Post-Pandemic Prosperity, focuses on emerging trends in entrepreneurial ecosystems and the critical roles of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in the economic well-being of the nation, especially in sectors where people of color have historically been underrepresented in leadership and ownership.
Dr. Ronald C. Williams, CSU assistant professor of Management and CSE founding director said, “We are committed to continuing the critical legacy of HBCUs as conduits for opportunity by focusing on unique models of entrepreneurship, sustainable program delivery, and high growth niche sectors. EICAC 2021 will serve as a clarion call to all who want to join us in this work.”
