This panel discussion will explore the experiences and challenges faced by Black farmers in the United States, particularly in the DMV area. Our panelists will explore the historical roots of Black agriculture and the contemporary issues that affect these farmers today. The discussion will cover topics such as land access, capital acquisition, market access, climate change adaptation, sustainable farming practices, food sovereignty, and policy advocacy. By sharing their personal stories and insights, the panelists will highlight the crucial role that Black farmers play in shaping our food system and economy.
