Commitment to Excellence Awards
Coppin State University alumni are making a difference on campus, in their local communities, and in their careers. Coppin State University National Alumni Association (CSUNAA) recognizes the accomplishments of our fellow eagles for their commitment to excellence.
Recognition Categories
Presented to Coppin alumni for outstanding professional achievement, service to the community, or commitment to Coppin State University. Nominees must have attended the university within the last 10 years.
Recognizes alumni for outstanding contributions to their chosen career field or industry. This awardee is excelling at the highest level and is often recognized by or celebrated among their peers.
Highlights alumni who have taken the initiative to influence positive change in their career, local community, or the Coppin campus community without seeking or expecting public praise for their actions.
Recognizes alumni who have shown unwavering commitment to Coppin State University over a period of at least 10 years. This awardee is a loyal donor who dedicates their time, shares ideas and expertise, and serves as an advocate for the university. This award recognizes an individual whose contributions have significantly impacted Coppin students and the Coppin campus community at large.
This is the highest honor presented to Coppin alumni by CSUNAA. It is awarded to alumni that exemplify the spirit of our namesake, Fanny Jackson Coppin by providing significant contributions to Coppin State University and their local community.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nominees must be living graduates or former students of Coppin State University or the University under any of its former names. If you wish to acknowledge someone posthumously, there is a space to include their name(s) on the application. The committee will acknowledge posthumous names received; however, awards will be presented to living alumni during the event.
- CSUNAA executive board members are not eligible to receive award recognition at the Commitment to Excellence Awards during their term of service.
Nominations
Nomination Submission Deadline
Nominations must be submitted no later than Friday, November 15, 2024, at 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time. Awardees will be notified no later than December 15, 2024.
Nomination Instructions
- You may nominate yourself for an award.
- All nominations must be submitted using the online form.
- Although not required, supplemental information (press releases, articles, publications, letters of recommendation, etc.) may be submitted via email to alumni@coppin.edu using the subject line “2025 Alumni Recognition Supplemental Information”. Information must be received by the submission deadline.
- Nominations are considered for the current award recognition year only. If your nominee is not selected for an award during the current award cycle, a new application must be submitted for consideration in the future.
- If you nominate someone for more than one category, a separate application must be submitted for each category.
All nominations must be submitted no later than Friday, November 15, 2024, at 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time. Awardees will be notified no later than December 15, 2024.
Coppin State University National Alumni Association reserves the right to select an awardee in the event no nominations are received for a particular category. We also reserve the right to not select an awardee for a given category if the nominations do not meet the eligibility requirements or standards of excellence set forth by the committee.
