Coppin State University Scholars pursue their undergraduate and graduate degrees through the School of Professional Studies, the Helene Fuld School of Nursing, the School of Arts & Sciences, and the School of Graduate Studies. These -Academic Units (and Coppin State University itself) hold accreditations with the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education, the Maryland State Department of Education, the Maryland Board of Nursing, the National League for Nursing Accrediting Comission, the National Council on Social Work Education, and the Council on Rehabilitation Education.
The School of Professional Studies and the School of Arts & Sciences are comprised of 15 individual departments, some of which are: the Department of Mathematics & Computer Science, the Department of Humanities, the Department of Fine & Communication Arts, the Department of Natural Sciences, the Education Unit, and the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation & Dance..
We not only have superb Nursing and Teacher Education Programs, but we also offer a wide array of majors and minors within our diverse departments such as History, Urban Arts Production, Management Science and Criminal Justice.
These opportunities are not limited to our traditional full-time students. Alternative arrangements are made for our non-traditional students, who wish to pursue various levels of higher education at times convenient to their schedules.
